Tuning suspension is not just springs and valving. Tuning to a professional level has many ingredients !
This is an important one.
Fix your preload issue with the exclusive Suspension101 Preload Perches. At Suspension101, we understand that while the 890R fork spring rates are quite good for many riders, the amount of spring preload is not!
These bikes come with 15mm of preload. This excessive preload creates harshness for any rider under 265lbs, compromising comfort. You will never get full plush without addressing this issue.
Preload is how much the fork springs are squeezed with the forks fully extended. Our in-house designed Preload Perches address this issue effectively, enhancing your riding experience with more plushness in washboard and more. Trust the experts at Suspension101, home of The Gobblers,
Comes in sets of two.
FYI, There are two ways to address the spring preload problem. The Spring Perches above or installing custom shorter fork springs. Prior to Suspension101 making these units, every single Gobbler Pro build included installing a shorter set of fork springs and our customers like it very much.

Why does spring preload affect plushness?
Example: Take a spring rate that is 10lbs per each mm it is squeezed.
So it takes 10lbs to squeeze the spring 1mm. If you are riding over rocks etc. and you accelerate you have nearly zero preload on the forks as the back of the bike sinks down a bit. So when you hit a bump your spring with 1mm of preload will give 10lbs of resistance before the wheel moves.
Now squeeze your spring 15mm x 10lbs and you have 150lbs of spring force pushing your wheel down.
So now when you hit a bump the spring resists any suspension movement until there is 150lbs pushing on the wheel. Float like a butterfly, Sting like a Bee!
