First ride on my gobblers today. 21 GasGas ec300, stock suspension other than sprung for my weight. I set the gobblers at George’s recommended starting point and didn’t touch them or adjust clickers for the entire ride.
I can’t believe how much better this bike feels. After 2-1/2 hours of riding through braking bumps, woops and rooty rocky single track I couldn’t believe how NOT worn out I was. My upper body is usually so sore that I can barely load my bike in the truck. I was able to ride faster and with more control.
At some point I might upgrade to the suspension 101 mid valves or just do the open chamber conversion, but I’m in no rush at this point. Fantastic product.
One thing I know, is that 2 years later after installing Gobblers base valves only in forks, a shock revalved and George's spring/oil level combo, I am still thankful and impressed everytime I ride my dirt bike.
They were so good that I immediately did the same to my '18. You will not be disappointed!
Installed mine yesterday and put about an hour on my backyard practice track. Already had the gas tank off so I just flipped the bike over so that the bottom of the forks were higher and swapped them out without any disassembly.
Hit crossties, telephone poles, and rocks along with some mild whoops in the woods. I didn't change from the initial settings. My springs are too light for my weight so I'm at a disadvantage already.
I noticed less much less impact transferred to the bars while ramming the front tire into every obstacle on my track. Large changes to the clickers on the stock compression valves didn't have near the effect of just installing these and riding. I've ridden revalved forks that didn't work this well. :thumb:
