This is old school but works every bit as well today.  48mm and 49mm forks.

These Garter springs are a bit shorter for a tighter fit.

They will squeeze the seal a little tighter on the fork tube to help keep the dirt and mud out.

Your seals will last longer.

EarlyYZ's and many others had tighter fitting seals for longevity.

To compete with the less stiction crowd they lightened the seal squeeze  for a looser fit.

Want longer lasting seals just unscrew the spring. Wrap it around your tube, screw the spring back together and slide it on your seal.

You can use these only for mud rides or full time as we used to do.

Some will say no no no that will cause more stiction. Some will say yes I want longer lasting seals.
